The Grand Tradition is closely following the recent developments around the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Outbreak. Our heartfelt thoughts are with all of those directly impacted by this pandemic.
These changes are happening rapidly, and we are trying to get up to date information out to all our guests when it is available to us. Here is what we know:
The State of California has issued a “stay in place” order for all Californians except for essential functions, issued on March 19th, 2020 set until further notice. The Governor of the State of California has enacted a “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” for reopening California framework here. This blueprint provides criteria for loosening and tightening restrictions on activities. Each county in California is assigned a tier based on test positivity and adjusted case rate for tier assignment including metrics from previous weeks.
The County of San Diego is currently in listed in the RED phase. The County of San Diego is allowed to open some indoor businesses with limited capacity and with modifications. This is a great accomplishment, but it does not give immediate relief to closed businesses. In the meantime, the Grand Tradition is adhering to all State and County mandates, which includes requiring all guests and employees to wear face masks, wash hands, sanitize all surfaces frequently and practice safe social distancing.
Our Veranda Restaurant is open with seating on our covered outdoor patio and limited indoor seating . Our new hours during this time will be Thursday through Sunday from 9am – 2pm serving Brunch and Lunch. Reservations are required, click here to make your reservation.
Wedding ceremonies have been approved by the County of San Diego with restricted guidelines but wedding receptions are not permitted as of yet. Therefore, our events-based business is not fully operational currently. The County of San Diego has an executive order set until further notice prohibiting all public or private gatherings/events that bring together 1 (one) or more person into a single room or space at the same time; as well as enact social distancing. Any scheduled special events have been in contact with their Event Coordinator to devise a plan tailored to their wishes and needs during this time of uncertainty. We will continue to keep you updated with any additional information when it becomes available to us.
Our gardens will be open to visit Thursday through Sunday from 9am – 5pm only. The grounds will be closed to the public Monday – Wednesday. Face masks will be required for all garden visitors and visitors should adhere to social distancing guidelines. Please check in with our Concierge upon arrival. We look forward to everyone enjoying a walk through the gardens.
