Covid-19 Updates:

May 29th, 2020

The Grand Tradition is closely following the recent developments around the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Outbreak. Our heartfelt thoughts are with all of those directly impacted by this pandemic.

These changes are happening rapidly, and we are trying to get up to date information out to all our guests when it is available to us. Here is what we know:

The State of California has issued a “stay in place” order for all Californians except for essential functions, issued on March 19th, 2020 set until further notice. The Governor of the State of California has enacted a four-stage framework for reopening California framework here. These stages provide provisions for the reopening of lower-risk businesses and spaces in stage two, then higher-risk businesses and spaces in stage three; with a full reopening of all businesses in stage four.

The state has allowed for San Diego County to move further into the Stage 2 reopening. This allows restaurants, retail businesses, hair salons and barbershops to have in-person customers with modifications to their operation.

Our Veranda Restaurant is scheduled to reopen on June 5th, 2020. Our new hours during this time, will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 2pm serving Brunch and Lunch. Reservations will be required, click here to make your reservation.

Our events-based business is scheduled in the phase three category and we have not been permitted to conduct events-based business as of yet. The County of San Diego has an executive order dated May 27th, 2020 set until further notice prohibiting all public or private gatherings/events that bring together 1 (one) or more person into a single room or space at the same time; as well as enact social distancing. Any scheduled special events have been in contact with their Event Coordinator to devise a plan tailored to their wishes and needs during this time of uncertainty. We will continue to keep you updated with any additional information when it becomes available to us.

Our gardens will be open to visit starting June 5th for Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s from 9am – 5pm only. The grounds will be closed to the public Monday – Thursday. Face masks will be required for all garden visitors and visitors should adhere to social distancing guidelines. Please check in with our Concierge upon arrival. We look forward to everyone enjoying a walk through the gardens.

Our Sales team will be conducting complimentary in-person venue tours of our property Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s. If you are interested in a tour, please email [email protected] to make an appointment.
